These Tabletop RPG books are by our dear friend Jean Chandler and his company Codex Martialis. Jean pioneered the “role many keep one” style of resource allocation in combat that we also use in FoV and his stuff is extremely deeply researched, I can’t suggest them enough.
The Stara Szkola series is Old-School-Revival style series of books that give a fast and dynamic combat system, perfect for playing with or without miniatures. His Codex Martialis series is a detailed approach to applying historical martial arts to RPG combat, with detailed weapons, armour stats, and historically inspired feats!
